Greetings From Your Webmaster

Well a lot has taken place since my last update. We had a meeting where wrapping of presents for the boys at the Settlement took place and then on the following Saturday they were delivered to them. I hate that I haven't been involved but due to sickness and work, but my hands has been tied. But I am so proud to be part of this ministry here. God has sent us, truly some of the most dedicated hard working Christians there are! I pray that the work that has been started will be continued and we can see soul won to the Lord.
Now for some more good news. I have heard from our State Webmaster Walt McNeely and we are in the process of getting our CMA website up and running. I want to thank our State Coordinator David Hall and our East Central Representative Clint Davis and State Webmaster Walt McNeely for all their help for helping us get Forming Chapter status.
My prayer is for each and everyone have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas. I want each and everyone of the Chrome Knights for Christ to know how much I think of each one of them. We are Brothers and Sisters in Christ! My prayer is also for each and everyone to have a great New Year! Look forward to what we will accomplish in 2010 with God's help.

Your Brother in Christ,

New Christmas Poem

This was sent to me from Ricky Bass with The Forgiven Christian Rider out of North Carolina. It was sent to him by a Marine.

New Christmas Poem

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE
CHRISTMAS,
HE LIVED ALL ALONE,
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE
MADE OF
PLASTER AND STONE.

I HAD COME DOWN THE
CHIMNEY
WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO
IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.

I LOOKED ALL ABOUT,
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
NOT EVEN A TREE.

NO STOCKING BY THE MANTLE,
JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND.
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
OF FAR DISTANT LANDS.

WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,
AWARDS OF ALL KINDS.
A SOBER THOUGHT CAME
THROUGH MY MIND.

FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT,
IT WAS DARK AND DREARY.
I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER,
ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.

THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING,
SILENT, ALONG.
CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR
IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.

THE FACE WAS SON GENTLE,
THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER.
NOT HOW I PICTURED A
UNITED STATES SOLDIER.

WAS THIS THE HERO OF
WHOM I'D JUST READ?
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO,
THE FLOOR FOR A BED?

I REALIZED THE FAMILIES
THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT,
OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE
SOLDIERS,
WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT.

SOON ROUND THE WORLD,
THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY,
AND GROWNUPS WOULD
CELEBRATE
A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.

THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM
EACH MONTH OF THE YEARS,
BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS,
LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE.

I COULDN'T HELP WONDER
HOW MANY LAY ALONE,
ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE
IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME.

THE VERY THOUGHT
BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE,
I DROPPED TO MY KNEES
AND STARTED TO CRY.

THE SOLDIER AWAKENED
AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE,
SANTA DON'T CRY.
THIS IS MY CHOICE;

I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM,
I DON'T ASK FOR MORE.
MY LIFE IS MY GOD,
MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS.

THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER
AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP.
I COULDN'T CONTROL IT,
I CONTINUED TO WEEP.

I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS,
SO SILENT AND STILL
AND WE BOTH SHIVERED
FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S
CHILL.

I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE
ON THAT COLD, DARK NIGHT,
THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR
SO WILLING TO FIGHT.

THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER,
WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE,
WHISPERED "CARRY ON SANTA,
ITS CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE."

ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH
AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT.
MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND!
AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.

This poem was written by a Marine, We need to remember of service men and women during the Holidays. God bless each and everyone of them. May God's hand of protection be upon them and bring them safely home should be our prayer.

Thoughts from our Chaplain

Come as a Child!

Children are wonderful...and grandchildren are more wonderful......
Come with me, back in time, to our own "little kid" days. We remember the excitement, the suspense, the guessing games, the wonder and joy...the love of Christmas....

For seen through the eyes of a child, it is pure wonder and joy as a young child catches their first glimpse of Christmas lights, they can see presents they can open, carols they can "sing", not to mention the cookies they can taste!

Can WE, as adults come as children to the Christ of Christmas? No, not to the manger, but to the Cross and to the Empty Tomb of our Saviour and Risen Lord.Come as a child today, eager to learn, eager to live, eager to love. You see, HE is the Master Teacher, the Author of Joy, the Giver of Life and the Lord of Love, and He awaits our worship this day.

"O COME, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!"

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11

First Weekend Behind Us!

Well if my memory serves me right, I believe we had ten or eleven bikes to ride in the parade this year. Which was better than last year! Unfortunately I had to depart early due to my bike overheating. One little 10 amp fuse was the culprit. Still I think we showed our colors and represented CMA and Chrome Knights for Christ in a positive light. But most of all we showed the City of Andalusia that WE STOOD UP FOR CHRIST JESUS! And that was the most important thing that we could ever do! We need to let our light shine for Jesus Christ everyday that we can.
The ride for Saturday was called off mainly to the weather. This also gave us Crimson Tide fans an opportunity to witness a wonderful, delightful, exceptional victory over them ole Florida Gators! There will always be a next time that we can ride in those parades.
I haven't heard how things went Sunday, but I hope everything went good. I look forward to hearing all about it at the next meeting.
And speaking of the next meeting. I got a email from Gaylen this morning concerning it. The next meeting will be December 15th at 6:30 p.m. Gaylen wants to start early where we can have a short meeting and then wrap the gifts for the boys at The Settlement. (Please don't ask me to cut the paper, cause there is no way I can cut a straight line if my life depended upon it.)
Faye is going to invite the Forgiven Child of God group. Please bring wrapping supplies with you such as wrapping paper, tape, scissors, and bows. Plan to bring your donation that you would like to give toward the gifts for the boys. Faye has done the shopping and purchased the gifts from the boys wish list. THANK YOU Faye and Ray for all the hard work you put into this!
Allan would like to ask everyone to bring something to eat such as cookies or finger foods.
God bless,
Gaylen & Linda

Don't forget now 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night December 15th!

Thoughts from our Chaplain

Overflowing Thanksgiving

Thanks should not be a boring thing that we feel obligated to do as Christians. It should be an immediate response and come without reservation or even thought.
If we have an attitude of thanksgiving, we won't be able to contain our thankfulness, it will be overflowing. As thanksgiving overflows, it gives glory to God.
We should be specially thankful when God's grace is reaching more and more people through the gospel. there is perhaps nothing that should excite us more or cause us to give greater thanks than when another person becomes a Christian.
Of course thanksgiving can overflow from anything that we are thankful for. Any expression of thanksgiving gives glory to God because we recognize that He is the source of all that we have to be thankful for.
Most importantly however, Jesus is the reason for our salvation. Our thanks should overflow because of our own salvation but also in celebration for what God does in the lives of others as they become Christians.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Thess. 5:18

Happy Thanksgiving

As we approach the Thanksgiving holidays, I think about what Paul wrote to the church in 1st Thessalonians 5:16 - 18, he said "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." We should rejoice always, because our trust and hope is in Jesus. He has never fail us or forsaken us. He is the friend that will always be there no matter what! Pray without ceasing. Are we praying as Paul said 'without ceasing"? We truly have alot to pray for today. Our Country and our Leaders. Our Troops that are here and abroad and our families. We really have alot to pray for these days. But Paul said in that verse 18, that in everything we are to give THANKS! As I look back since last Thanksgiving, I truly have so much to be thankful for both good and bad. Paul was telling us through the words of God that we are to give thanks in all things. As we set down this Thanksgiving lets give thanks for all that our Heavenly Father has brought us through both good and bad this past year and to remember "Rejoice evermore"!

God bless,

Lamar

Updates and CMA news

Well it's been a while since the last posting. A lot of things has happen. We have had a successful bike ride in which we were able to raise enough that after expenses, we gave around $550.00 to each of the families. I have recieved a email from one of the families and I will post it for everyone to read. I sorry that I haven't been posting that much, but due to some health problems and work will have to be my excuse! We are in the process of trying to join the Christian Motorcycle Association. Some of us went to Dothan August 1st and set in on the CMA chapter meeting over there and had a real good time. Also we had some couples to go to Shocco Springs for the annual get together. I will be posting pictures from this event in the near future. Thanks to Danny's wife Vickie. We also had some members to go back to Dothan this past weekend to help out with the Dothan chapter during the bike bash there. Personally I feel that us joining ranks with CMA will be a big plus for "Chrome Knight for Christ". I feel that this will help get OUR club up and off the ground. If you are not a member of the CMA, please see Gaylen for an application. They have some great courses that you can take to earn your right to wear their back patch. We are planning on meeting the CMA Area Rep sometime next month to help direct us in the process. So please keep this in prayer that God's will will be done.

Remember that the monthly meetings are still the 1st and 3rd Tuesday night at the Covington Electric Coop and the starting time is still 7:00 pm. Please make every effort you can to attend these meetings. God blessed!

Prayer Request

I would like for everyone to please remember my brother-in-law in prayer. He had surgery at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola today. They removed half of his pancreas due to a tumor and the gallbladder and also repaired several hernia's. They won't find out till next week if it is cancer or not. Please agree with us that it won't be cancer.
Also I'm in need of prayer myself. Somehow or the other I have injured my knee and I will be having a MRI next week to determine if it will have to be scope out or not. That was the reason I didn't make it Tuesday night to the meeting. There is just so much sickness going around today and we have just got to trust in God to see us through! God bless!

P.S. Remember if you have a prayer request, please send it in and it will be posted for everyone to pray about. There is power in prayer. Amen!

Just talk to Allan and he is doing better. Let's all continue to hold him up in prayer for his speedy recovery. For the ones that don't know, he got hit in the face with a cheater bar the other week at his home. The bar hit him in the face and fracture several bones in his face and jaw. Surgery was done and now its just a matter of time for him to heal. I know he will surely appreicate all the prayers for him.

UP COMING:
*Visiting churches once a month as a group - want to show us your church? Call Allan, or if you are willing to be the "ONE" to coordinate this activity, let him know @ 222-0490.

*A Ride to The Wall in Pensacola is being planned for March 14, 2009. We will meet at Hardee's and ride out at 8am, visit The Wall, listen to our members who served or lost love ones and finish with lunch before we come home early afternoon.

*The idea of a bi-monthly prayer meeting is being suggested by some of our members and we would like your feedback. Time, location, and format are all up for discussion at our next meeting.

The Settlement Trip at Christmas 2008

This is just an example of what we want to do to help others. Please read and enjoy.

First I would like to thank God for a good year in 2008. God blessed me in many ways. I couldn't tell you all of them, but, one especially stands out. God allowed me to meet a group of young men, in the Settlement, who were just great. My heart went out to them instantly.
Along with some members of the Chrome Knights for Christ Motorcycle Club, we gathered Christmas gifts for these young men and a few days before Christmas we delivered the gifts to the boys. My two grandsons, Logan and Jakan, and my wife Faye enjoyed about 2 hours of playing basketball, video games and fellowship with the boys and the staff. They had put up a beautiful Christmas tree with decorations all over the living room and the boys were very excited to add their personalized stockings over the mantel. The boys were great and enjoyed our company. We were all blessed! Great blessings come from small deeds when your heart is in it. Looking forward to 2009.

God Bless,

Remember Meeting Times and Place

Just a short note here to remind everyone that the Chrome Knights for Christ Motorcycle Club still meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday night of each month at Covington Electric Cooperative at 6:30 p.m. It's very important to try and attend each meeting to see what's on the agenda. I believe the Lord has great things in store for this club this year. We had made great strides through the close of 2008 and it's no telling what is in store for 2009. Please make every effort you can to make it. God bless!
