Urgent Prayer Request

I received word from our Chaplain, Vickie Oakley yesterday, that Allan Cory and his wife Marian was in a serious traffic accident Monday. She was told that Allan is in Montgomery at Baptist South hospital in critical condition and he is on a ventilator and Marian is in Dothan and has serious injuries but is expected to make a full recovery. We ask that everyone please hold them up in prayer. To repeat what our Chaplain said in her email, "Let us pray one for another, be fervent in your prayers, and pray without ceasing.(James 5:13-16)"
We served a risen Savior that took the stripes on His back for our healing. So please, please be praying for Allan and Marian, also there extended family too. God bless!

A Little Christmas History

Let's remember that Jesus is the reason for this season!

“And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.” Luke 1:31

A candy maker in Indiana wanted to make a candy that would help us remember who Christmas is really about. So he made a Christmas Candy Cane. He incorporated several symbols for the birth, ministry, and death of Jesus Christ. He began with a stick of pure white, hard candy. White to symbolize the virgin birth and sinless nature of Jesus. Hard candy to symbolize the solid rock, the foundation of the Church, and firmness of the promises of God. The candy maker made the candy in the form of a “J” to represent the name of Jesus. It also represented the staff of the “Good Shepherd”. The candy maker then included red stripes. He used three small stripes and a large red stripe to represent the suffering Christ endured at the end of his life. The candy became known as a Candy Cane – a decoration seen at Christmas time. The meaning has faded, but still gives joy to children young and old, whom Jesus loves and treasures.

I trust that everyone will have a safe and blessed Christmas and a very wonderful and prosperous New Year!

December Monthly Meeting

Well I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and had plenty to eat and a great time with family and friends., but it's time for our monthly meeting and it will be at Danny & Vickie Oakley's home which is located at 13080 US Hwy 29 South. The meeting will be at 3:00 p.m. and the party afterwards. Our CMA State Coordinator David and Emily Hall are hoping to be there. Danny and Vickie are supplying the chicken salad sandwiches and some other goodies, but ask that each one of us bring a goodie, snack, sandwich, your beverage of choice , etc. as well, especially if you would like a desert. So please everyone that can please be present and bring your special someone.

Its hard to believe this year is almost complete and that the year 2012 is about to start. I look forward to the next year to see what we can do to reach "one heart at a time" for Jesus. As our chaplain said at the last meeting, we really need to be in prayer for our chapter. God has brought us together for a purpose. We must be willing to fulfill the purpose that God has for each member of this chapter. Let's work hard to keep the Chrome Knights for Christ Motorcycle Ministry moving forward today! God bless!

Eyes of Faith - A Devotion

Recently in my personal devotional time, I have been reading a book titled, " When Heaven Invades Earth" by Bill Johnson. This book has really challenged the way that I view or should I say see my faith. How do you define faith? What does your faith mean to you? If someone asked you to tell them about your faith, what would you tell them? I have to admit the more I think about these questions the more I question myself about this "thing" we call faith. In 2 Corinthians 5:7 scripture tells us "we walk by faith not by sight." When you read this verse of scripture (especially in the KJV) you see where it is a parenthetical statement. In other words, it was an afterthought or an "oh by the way" statement made by Paul. An afterthought; would you describe faith as an afterthought? In the book referenced above, Johnson makes such statements about faith as: Faith has its anchor in the unseen realm; it lives from the invisible toward the visible. Faith actualizes what it realizes. (Johnson, page 26). Based on these statements, how would you define faith to the unbeliever? Something to think about, huh. Other statements include: Faith is the nature of life; Faith sees, Faith brings all of God's Kingdom into focus. All of God's resources, all of God's benefits are accessible through faith. (Johnson, page 26) So does faith require commitment? So how does your faith see?
More thoughts on faith to come..........
God bless!

Meeting & Election November 5th

Well I first want to say how sorry I am that I have failed to update our blog spot here. No one to blame except myself. I will try my best with God's help to start back doing our blog here to keep people inform of what is going on.

We will be having our meeting this Saturday November 5th at CDG Engineering Main Offices at 9:00 am. We will be electing officers for the coming year of 2012. Our chapter is young and the devil is trying his best to destory this ministry and we NEED to band together in prayer for God to help us to hold together as we do the Master's business.

I haven't heard yet if we will be going riding following the meeting or not. But we did go for a ride October 1st and then had our meeting that afternoon and had a cookout at Danny and Vickie's home and had a wonderful time. As I said that morning we met at Hardee's and left there and rode to Evergreen, then to Brewton and then to Milton and back home. Some of us left Brewton and came on back home then. But it was such a beautiful day for a ride and the ride was great. We had some new people that rode with us and we were so glad they join us. I will try to post our upcoming rides so if any would like to join us they can. Well I must close for now. God bless!

Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be April 2nd and it will be in Elba at the Elba City Schools Bus Shop at 200 Tiger Drive. After the meeting, our Road Captain Sherry Piezon has got a ride down to Destin to the Hog Breath for our lunch that day. From the pictures that I seen, the last ride was a great success! I had plans to go but my bike decided otherwise. That is what happens when you have a dead battery. But the problem is now fixed, but unfortunely I have got to work this weekend. As I had asked everyone to be in prayer about the job situation, I should find out this week the out come. So I continue to ask that everyone continue to be in prayer about this situation that God's will be done. As we enter the month of April we will be celebrating Easter the last Sunday. Just as we celebrate Christmas as the birth of Jesus, we celebrate Easter as the time of His death and resurrection. Without Him dying on that old rugged cross and the shedding of His blood we couldn't have the promise of eternal life. If you have accepted Him as your personal Saviour, then that blood that He shed at Calvary has washed your sins away. Praise God for His Son taking our place on that cross. He took the stripes on His back that we could have the healing and he bore the sin on the cross that we didn't have to do that. We should be praising our Heavenly Father everyday for His Son and the price that He paid for us. That is to me what Easter is all about! Not bunny rabbits or hiding and hunting eggs. When you celebrate Easter this year with your family, talk about the real reason for Easter! May God bless each and everyone today. Lamar Brown Webmaster

Well winter is almost gone and spring will be starting March 20th! I know for myself, I'm glad to see it finally arrive. Our next monthly meeting will be April 2nd at the Elba City School Bus Shop in Elba at 10:00 am. We will then ride to the Hog Breath in Destin, Florida for lunch. And then April 16th, we will be riding to the Cafe'79 in Vernon, Florida. So be sure to mark your calendars and make plans on attending these meetings and rides.

Also I want to say how sorry I am on not posting the birthdays and anniversaries for the past several months. I hope to start back in April and keep it rolling. If your birthday or anniversary was in the past couple of months please forgive me.

I want to thank everyone for there prayers on my request that I sent out. As bad as I want this job position, I first and foremost want to be in God's will. So if it's His will then things will work out and if not then I will stay where I'm at. Again thank you and God bless each and everyone!

New Meeting Places and Time

It was decided at the last meeting to change our meeting place and times. For February 5th, the meeting will take place at the Elba City Schools Bus Shop at 200 Tiger Drive in Elba at 10:00 a.m. and the March 5th meeting will take place at CDG Engineering Offices located on U.S. Highway 29 north in Andalusia at 10:00 a.m. We will be alternating between these two location. Also the CMA Officers Meeting will be in Prattville on January 29th and is important that everyone that is holding a position be there.

Well 2011 has started and we are going to have a great year working the our Lord and Saviour! "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;" Matt. 9:37. The harvest is there for the picking and yes we are a small chapter, but I believe that God will bless our efforts as we are out and about doing the work that He has called all of us to do. Let our prayers be united as we pray for God's will to be done! God bless!
